How does a booking system work?

September 26, 2022

As customers, we use booking systems of all shapes and sizes almost daily – sometimes without even realising. However, we understand a lot of people, entrepreneurs and businesses might be looking at running a booking system of their own for the very first time – going from the customer to the provider.

Naturally, as with any business decision, this can be daunting. You run the risk of choosing the wrong system for your business needs (and even unknowingly tying yourself into contracts), mis-selling your products and services and worst of all, providing a bad customer experience, reflecting poorly on your business’ reputation.

In this blog, we break down the 4 easy steps you’d need to follow as a BookingLive system user – allowing you to keep your business online and open for revenue 24/7.

Still not sure? Download our free PDF report on the advantages and disadvantages of an online booking system.

1. Claim your free account and set up your booking system

We’ve found that on average it takes our users under 5 minutes to get their company information and preferences registered with BookingLive and their free account set up.

2. Choose your payment tier based on the number of monthly bookings you take

Our subscriptions are based on the amount of bookings you take, so you’re only paying for what you need. To keep your ROI as high as possible, we allow you to up or downgrade your tier if you’re paying on a monthly basis – perfect if you’re a seasonal business or tend to shut up shop over Christmas!

As the tiers rise, you do have access to more features and functionality, so find out more here to see which tier would suit you and your business best.

3. Create your bookable items

To add the product or service you’re selling to your BookingLive system, simply open your dashboard and follow the step by step process within the “Bookable item” menu. Here, you can write up the all-important information about your services, your pricing and optional add-ons (such as merchandise or equipment) to be sold alongside the booking – an easy way to boost your income!

Zippia has reported that 40% of appointments are booked after business hours. You could be missing out on almost doubling your revenue by not utilising an online booking system!

4. Get your BookingsLive!

Now you have all of your products and services created and available for booking, you can embed a link into your website so all availability is showing for anyone that visits your website, or share a booking link directly with your customers. Keep your business online and open for revenue 24/7 – sit back and watch the bookings come rolling in!

How will BookingLive work for your customers?
