Analytics & Ecommerce Tracking

Overview

Google Analytics (GA) is a free service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about the visitors to a website.

BookingLive integrates with Google Analytics and Google Ecommerce Tracking.

Google Analytics

To enable Google Analytics tracking with BookingLive, you first need to find your Google Analytics Id. This can be found by logging into your Analytics account in the overview section (when you first login) to Google Analytics. Alternatively, click here for Google's instructions. It will look something like: UA-555555-1. Then follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to CONTENT > PAGES > SITE CONFIG > GOOGLE ANALYTICS
  2. Enter you Google Analytics UA Code into the Google Analytics UACode text field.
  3. Check the Enable Google Analytics check box.
  4. Click the SAVE button.

 

Google Ecommerce Tracking

E-commerce tracking allows you to track your website conversion rate, top performing referrals, days to purchase and several other important metrics.

There are several options to enable Google Ecommerce Tracking - please ensure you select the correct one.

Before you use Ecommerce Tracking in BookingLive, make sure E-commerce tracking is enabled from within Google. 

How to enable Ecommerce Tracking in Google

From the overview page, click "edit". You should see "E-Commerce Website: Yes. If e-commerce tracking is disabled. clicking Edit again in the top right corner will bring you to your profile at: Analytics Settings > Profile Settings > Edit Profile Information. Click Yes, an E-Commerce Site and save. 

Full Integration

  1. Go to PAGES > SITE CONFIG > GOOGLE ANALYTICS 
  2. Check the Enable Google Eccommerce Tracking checkbox
  3. Go to ADMIN > ACTIVITIES
  4. For each activity, enter a CODE ID.

Track Bookings

Product tracking code can be displayed on the confirmation page as shown in the example below.

  1. Go to PAGES > SITE CONFIG > GOOGLE ANALYTICS
  2. Paste the google ecommerce tracking code into the 'TrackProductPurchase' box.
  3. Click SAVE button.

Other Settings

  1. TrackBasketPage: This will include code on the Basket Page.
  2. TrackProductPurchase: This will include code on the Confirmation Page.
  3. TrackSiteVisitor: This will include code on all pages.

Notes: 

You won't see any reporting when first enabling e-commerce tracking. It may take up to 24 hours after the first booking to get your site data.

Reporting will show in the E-commerce section of Google Analytics. Your booking system inventory will be represented as products, and bookings will as transactions. Note: no personally identifiable information on your customers is sent to Google. Google Analytics reporting should be used as a guide, however should not be relied as accurate financial reporting or accounting. Only bookings made by your customers from your website will be included in these reports, not bookings made within BookingLive.
