Sendgrid Integration

Overview

SendGrid gives you an SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) gateway to track the status of sent emails e.g. to verify a customer received a confirmation email. 

There are obviously different features depending upon which package you signup for, but all packages include:

  • Basic Deliverability Features - e.g. ISP Monitoring.
  • Advanced Deliverability Features - e.g. Return Path Certified Partner.
  • Support - e.g. live chat.
  • Basic Reporting/Analytics - e.g. automated email reporting, email activity.

Some of the better features allow you to monitor if you have received a copy of the confirmation emails from completed customer bookings, even to the level of: who opened the email and when.

 

How to get Sendgrid

1. Create a Sendgrid Account:

It doesn't matter too much on the package, but Lite does cover email activity such as bounces, spam reports etc.

2. Login to your new Sendgrid account.

3. Go to the Developer section of your account:
http://sendgrid.com/developer

4. This will display your three SMTP settings in your application - these will need to be added as config items in your CMS.

5. Log into your sites CMS e.g. bookings.bookinglive.co.uk/admin.

6. Go to ADMIN > CONFIG > COMPANY INFO > COMPANY INFO CONFIG ITEMS.

7. Click ADD COMPANY INFO CONFIG ITEMS and add the below config items.

8. SAVE.
